The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Mr. Renson Ingonga, CBS, OGW, today hosted the leadership of the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR), led by its Chairperson, Ms. Claris Ogangah, at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) Headquarters in Nairobi.
The consultative meeting served as both a formal introduction of the new KNCHR Chairperson to the ODPP leadership and an opportunity to reaffirm and deepen the partnership between the two institutions.
During the deliberations, the KNCHR and ODPP teams reflected on ongoing collaborative efforts aimed at strengthening human rights within Kenya’s criminal justice system. The discussions also explored new avenues for joint programming to further entrench human rights–based approaches in prosecution, investigation, and justice delivery.

Commissioner Dr. Wamalwa Dennis, who attended the meeting alongside other Commissioners, underscored the importance of sustained institutional collaboration in advancing accountability, fairness, and dignity for all. He noted that the synergy between KNCHR and ODPP continues to play a pivotal role in promoting access to justice and ensuring that human rights remain at the center of Kenya’s prosecutorial framework.
The engagement reaffirmed the shared commitment of both institutions to uphold the rule of law and promote justice guided by human rights principles.
